Enetjärn Nature Foundation, ENF, provides support for initiatives that have the potential to be relevant to decision-makers and can change attitudes towards nature. The initiatives must be relevant to politics or the business sector.
We refer to an organisation running an initiative supported by the foundation a foundation partner.
size of funding?
During the start-up year, 2025/2026, the level of funding per partner initiative varies from SEK 50 000 to SEK 250 000. In exceptional cases, we may provide funding up to SEK 500 000.
The funding will be transferred in two instalments, 50% at the project start and 50% upon project completion.
Does your initiative align with enf:s objectives?
When evaluating an initiative and a potential partnership, we are looking at the following criteria:
Potential
We want the initiative to have the potential to influence decision-making at national, EU or international level. Scalability and a shift in norms are desirable factors.
The partner
We want there to be individuals with experience in implementation and advocacy linked to the initiative. We also value strong leadership, a stable organisation and appreciate if there are other funding partners involved.
Implementation
The application must relate to a new and clearly defined initiative with a realistic budget and project plan. We also welcome an openness to allowing ENF to be involved in developing the initiative.
What initiatives are not supported?
There are many important aspects to biodiversity, but not all of them are suitable for us. ENF does not support:
- Research, studies, inventories or documentation
- Knowledge dissemination
- Protection of valuable and threatened natural areas
- Practical restoration of nature
- Nature experiences and nature education
- Conferences and courses
- Support for already established projects
The foundation may support initiatives that include some element from the list above, but only if the initiative has a level of ambition that is in line with the foundation’s objectives.
How to apply for funding?
If your initiative meets ENF’s objectives and criteria, there are two ways to reach us:
Video application
Present yourselves and your idea on video (max 10 mins) with a description of the initiative and how it meets our criteria.
Written application
Present yourselves and your idea in a written application, preferably as a PowerPoint or PDF file of no more than 15 slides.
